We are a contemplative Roman Catholic monastic community of the Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance. We affirm a life of work and prayer; of radical discipleship and fidelity to the Gospel, the Rule of Saint Benedict and the Constitutions and Statutes of the Cistercian order.

1st October 2019

Announcing the appointment of Dom Erik Varden Abbot of Mount St Bernard Abbey to the position of bishop-prelate of Trondheim, Norway, to take effect on 1st November.
Dom Erik announced his appointment during our community meeting this morning. The community are very sad at losing their abbot but wish him well in his new position.

Daily Confession is extended beyond the Year of Mercy

Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) available in the public church every day between 2.30pm and 3.00pm. Come and take advantage of the Lord’s forgiving mercy! This is an extension of our practice during the Year of Mercy due to popular request.
