Community talks

What is a Monk? is the first in the ‘Hello Heritage’ series of talks that were held at the Abbey. The monk is described as a man who is being formed to the likeness of Christ by his monastic life. Various aspects of this life are related to the mysteries of Christ’s life.

What is a Monk

History of Mount St Bernard Abbey is the second in the ‘Hello Heritage’ series. The history of the founding members of the community is traced from 1794 at Lulworth in Dorset. The succession of abbots in the community is then discussed, beginning with Dom Bernard Palmer, as well as an outline of the various changes which have taken place in the monastery to the present day.
